In order to fully understand the history of the Sassanid Empire and how the Sassanid dynasty came to be the rulers of the Neo-Persian Empire, we must go back to the formation of the Achaemenid Empire. Their rule extended from a region that the natives called Parsa, and in Greek that region was called Farsis. That region was located near the Zagros Mountains in present-day southern Iran and extended to the shores of the Persian Gulf. Their homeland became the name of the entire empire we know today as Persia in Hellenistic pronunciation. From the 6th century BC. From the middle to the 4th BC. The history of Carthage is a rich and complex narrative spanning over seven centuries. It encompasses the city's rise as a dominant maritime power, its extensive trade networks, its conflicts with Rome, and its ultimate destruction. Phoenician settlers from Tyre, a city in modern-day Lebanon, founded Carthage around 814 BCE. According to legend, the city was established by Queen Dido (or Elissa) after fleeing from her brother, the king of Tyre. The city's location on the northeastern coast of modern-day Tunisia provided a strategic position for trade and defense. The Mongol Empire was one of the largest and most influential empires in world history, stretching across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East during the 13th and 14th centuries. It was founded by Genghis Khan in the early 13th century and continued to expand under his successors. Actually, the well-known name in Mongol history is Genghis Khan (c. 1162-1227), born as Temüjin; Genghis Khan unified the Mongol tribes in the early 13th century and became their supreme leader. Genghis Khan implemented innovative military strategies, including rapid mobility, disciplined cavalry, and psychological warfare, contributing to the empire's success.
